Dua Lipa can hold a flawless headstand and perform the flying splits (eka pada koundinyasana II). She even recently showed off a headstand on a surfboard while vacationing in the Balearic Islands. “I always make time for a good workout, no matter where I am in the world,” Lipa told Vogue. A key part of her routine? Reformer Pilates.
For those unfamiliar, reformer Pilates is a low-impact exercise favored by celebrities like Hailey Bieber, Meghan Markle, and of course, Lipa. Now, the singer and Service95 founder has announced she’s joining Frame as cofounder and chief creative officer.
Frame is an at-home version of the reformer machine used in studio classes, complete with a screen for streaming workouts anytime. Lipa was actually the first person in Europe to have Frame’s reformer in her home. “I love being able to wake up, roll out of bed, and start right on the reformer,” she says. “I see such quick results—it’s one of the best forms of strength training for me.”
It’s hard to imagine Lipa needing more strength—she’s currently on a 37-city world tour and just kicked off a four-night run in New York City. “I’m always in heels, so my core is incredibly important. A strong core means a strong lower back, which really helps when you’re dancing and on your feet for hours.”
As for the running joke that Lipa is always on vacation—honestly, we’re jealous!—she brings that relaxed mindset to her workouts, too. “Don’t overthink it. Put on a great playlist, wear a cute Pilates outfit that makes you feel good. It clears your mind.”
Ironically, I listen to Dua Lipa when I exercise. So what does she listen to? “When I want something high-energy and powerful, I go for Nia Archives. But I also have a stretching playlist with calming music for strength work—like Leon Bridges or Portishead.”
