Here are 10 mini short outfits I’ll be wearing for summer 2026.

Shorts and summer go hand in hand. You’ve got classic denim jorts that only need a little black bikini top and flip-flops, and polished Bermudas that double as sleek workwear for the office and warm commutes. Both have their place in my warm-weather wardrobe, but right now, it’s the ultra-mini short that’s calling my name.

My obsession with tiny shorts started last year when I found a pair of white cotton striped shorts that belonged to my mom in the ’80s. I imagined her wearing them with a worn-in white tee and her beat-up Converse sneakers. After making them mine (a habit I do more often than I’d like to admit), I started putting my own twist on them: styling them with a bright red knit and ballet flats during the day, or a button-down and heeled thong sandals at night. Pearls and a woven basket bag, because why not?

I’m not the only one loving this leggy look. If you’ve scrolled Instagram in the last year, you’ve probably seen Dôen’s silky, lace-trimmed mini shorts on just about everyone. With waitlists that seem to double with every restock, pairs in soft ivory and chartreuse add a romantic touch to everyday basics when styled with cozy knits and light jackets.

Even celebrities are into it. Last summer, Zoë Kravitz stepped out in silky gym shorts with a graphic tee tucked in and heeled pumps. Chic!

Beyond the slick city streets, mini shorts are also a go-to beach cover-up.
