On Friday, July 3, over 1,000 celebrity guests watched Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce get married.

Nearly two years after the couple made their first public appearance together—with countless dinners in New York City, Swift’s massive Eras Tour, and Kansas City Chiefs games in between—they announced their engagement in August 2025. Over the past year, there’s been a lot of speculation. Which designer (or designers) would Taylor choose? What would a wedding at Madison Square Garden actually look like? Who was invited? Swift—known for dropping hints and Easter eggs in her outfits, videos, and performances—kept quiet through it all. But as the day went on, some details came out, and more are still trickling in.

When and where did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding take place?

The pop star and NFL athlete got married on July 3, 2026, at New York’s Madison Square Garden arena, with planning by Mark Seed.

A TMZ report last month suggested that Swift and Kelce “bailed” on their long-rumored Rhode Island ceremony “after word got out about the venue.”

Last week, the New York Times reported that permits had been requested for a large event at MSG in early July, which led to road closures in the surrounding Manhattan area from July 2 to 4. Before the wedding, paparazzi photos showed deliveries of boxes labeled “Garden Party,” workers rolling out (then removing) carpet on the entrance steps, and fabric hanging from the ceiling. White tents were also set up outside the venue for arrivals.

Swift isn’t the first person to have a wedding at the famous arena—Sly Stone married Kathy Silva in front of 23,000 people on June 5, 1974. Swift has also performed there eight times over the last 20 years.

What was the schedule?

The couple had a rehearsal dinner for about 100 people at the Infosys Theater inside the arena on Thursday, July 2. Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, and Jack Antonoff were photographed heading to MSG for the event that evening.

Page Six cited sources who revealed the full weekend schedule—and it was packed. After the rehearsal dinner, doors for guests opened on Friday at 3:30 p.m., with a cocktail hour starting at 4 p.m. on the 6th-floor concourse. The ceremony began at 5:30 p.m. on the MSG arena floor, followed by the reception at 6:30 p.m. The event was set to end at 2:00 a.m.

There were also reports on Friday that Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney performed during the ceremony—along with Swift herself. An unnamed source told the Times that “Swift and Nicks had participated in a sound check inside the Garden earlier on Friday.” (It seems Swift’s “Stevie Knicks” shirt at the NBA finals—custom-made by her friend Alana Haim—may have been one of her signature Easter eggs for fans.)

Right after Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce said “I do” during the ceremony, billboards outside the arena lit up in purple with the message: “JUST&T MARRIED!”

Who was invited?

Over 1,000 guests were expected at the Friday event. According to NBC News, guests received NDAs to sign along with their invitations. (The invitations also had unique watermarks to prevent leaks.) There was also a reported no-phones policy.

“I think the only stressful weddings are ones where you have a small number [of people],” Swift said during an appearance on Graham Norton’s British talk show last fall. “And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them, to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that.” She joked that “anyone I’ve ever talked to” would be invited—and seems to have kept her word.

Then, on Friday, Antonoff and his sister Rachel were spotted heading to Madison Square Garden. That afternoon, a bunch of other people were also seen leaving their homes and hotels: Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Lena Dunham, the Haim sisters, Swift’s childhood friend Abigail Anderson Berard, Ed Sheeran, Zoë Kravitz, Dakota Johnson, Julianne Moore, Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Benson Boone, Mariska Hargitay, Nikki Glaser, Jimmy Fallon, Ellie Goulding, Kyle and Kristin Juszczyk, Sombr, and Karlie Kloss. (Variety reported that Swift’s ex Harry Styles was also invited, but couldn’t make it because of tour commitments with his fiancée Kravitz.)

Swift didn’t forget where she came from. She also invited country stars Brad Paisley, the Chicks, and Maren Morris, along with her longtime collaborators Max Martin, Shellback, and Aaron Dessner. Other reported guests included Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor and her fiancé, actor-producer Cameron Fuller, and Grey’s Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo. (One of Swift’s cats is named after Pompeo’s character.)

What did Taylor Swift wear to her wedding?

It’s safe to assume Taylor changed outfits multiple times over the weekend—just like Dua Lipa did recently for her own star-studded, three-day wedding in Sicily. But according to a statement released on Friday night, she wore a Dior couture gown by Jonathan Anderson for the ceremony, and Kelce also wore Dior. The bride finished her look with Cartier jewelry and custom Christian Louboutin shoes.

The statement also revealed that Swift and Kelce skipped a traditional wedding party. Instead, Swift’s brother, Austin, served as her “man of honor,” and Kelce’s brother, Jason, was best man. Adam Sandler—who acted with Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2 last year—was the officiant. After the couple said “I do,” LED screens outside Madison Square Garden lit up with the words “JUST&T MARRIED,” and the top of the Empire State Building turned into Swift’s “something blue.”
