Picture this: It’s 2017. Rodarte is showing on the runway, the go-to short-form video app was Vine, and nobody was bigger than Cameron Dallas—a regular on the catwalk and in the front row who gave us a glimpse of what TikTok stars would become.
These days, Kylie Jenner might be into quiet luxury, but ten years ago she was turning heads at New York Fashion Week in a beaded denim shorts set by Simkhai. And when we look back at the 2017 runways, we can’t forget that the Hadid sisters—now everyone’s favorite duo—made a rare joint appearance at Fashion Week, walking in Versace’s star-studded spring 2017 show. Take us back to the good old days!
As always, there was just as much happening off the runway as on it. In Milan, attendees went all in on Alessandro Michele’s quirky, colorful Gucci, while indie designers like Molly Goddard were also big favorites. London was all about Christopher Kane, which only makes us more excited for his upcoming show for Mulberry. And it was the first and last time our street style photographer, Phil Oh, shot vertical photos for his street style galleries—though today, he can’t remember why and promises it will never happen again.
