For their Pronounce spring 2026 collection at Fondazione Sozzani, designers Yushan Li and Jun Zhou drew inspiration from traditional Chinese kites. The contrast between a kite’s delicate materials and sturdy structure shaped their designs, creating a series of thoughtful contrasts. They even incorporated kite shapes into their outerwear silhouettes, exploring this theme deeply tied to their heritage.

This collection leaned more formal than Pronounce’s usual style, with a strong emphasis on tailoring. Li and Zhou explained they wanted to honor the kite tradition and its ceremonial significance with refined, polished looks.

The color palette mirrored a summer sky—shifting from soft pastels to stormy grays. The show opened with jersey silk viscose polos featuring soft knotted collars, alongside tailored pieces like belted shorts and sheer suits that embodied lightness. Parkas and windbreakers echoed the geometric patterns of kites, while structured blazers, cropped Mao jackets, and faux leather garments—like wide-leg pants and deep-neck tank tops—represented the kites’ internal frames.

A notable highlight was Pronounce’s first in-house shoe: a modern square-toe lace-up in distressed leather, available in neutral and pastel shades that complemented the collection perfectly.
