This season, Dolce & Gabbana fully embraced a bold vision: pajama dressing took center stage in endless luxurious variations. As we say in Italy, it was pigiami in tutte le salse—pajamas served every which way. And when it comes to sauces, Italians don’t hold back.

In Italy, every man owns a set of pajamas—though that doesn’t mean they actually sleep in them. It’s a wardrobe staple, a symbol of decorum and good manners instilled from childhood. Dolce & Gabbana dug into their ’90s archives, revived this timeless classic, and gave it a fresh, spirited twist with their signature flair.

But this wasn’t just a nostalgic throwback—it was a deliberate statement about identity and creative confidence in a fashion world (and a world at large) full of uncertainty, fleeting trends, and endless noise. “We need certainty,” the designers explained. “Staying true to who we are, keeping our identity strong, and not getting lost in too many directions—that’s what matters. We wanted to stay in our lane.” And stay they did, with a booming soundtrack of Beethoven’s symphonies that felt as unexpected as it was effortlessly cool. The message was clear and playful: this was Dolce & Gabbana at their most relaxed and effortless.

The pajamas weren’t made from silk but humble cotton, embodying ease and that just-rolled-out-of-bed spontaneity. Classic striped drawstring pants and piping-detailed shirts in soft pastels came wrinkled and slightly rumpled, as if sleepwear had collided with casual wear and fused with impeccable tailoring. Paired with double-breasted blazers, parkas, slouchy cardigans, leather bombers, and even the occasional furry or leopard-print coat, the pajamas were styled with terry-cloth slippers and Havaianas for an air of supreme nonchalance. And because this is Dolce & Gabbana, every look was meticulously undone—precisely careless in the best way.

“It’s an instinctive way of dressing we see in younger generations,” the designers noted. “A kind of anti-fashion fashion, a freestyle approach that ignores trends and fashionista pretenses in favor of something more personal, more spontaneous.” True to their street-savvy instincts, Dolce & Gabbana took it literally—for the finale, they sent all the models, dressed in glittering, jewel-embroidered cotton pajamas, straight out of the venue and onto Viale Piave. The crowd, already electrified by celebrity sightings, erupted in cheers. Dolce & Gabbana may be in their PJs, but they’re wide awake and fully dialed in—they’re definitely not resting on their laurels.
