Making history is becoming a regular thing for Caitlin Clark—and the same goes for her friend Taylor Swift. This week, the Indiana Fever point guard became the first player in WNBA history to have back-to-back games with 30 points and 10 assists. At the same time, she showed off her Swiftie side with her latest Nike sneaker reveal.

Clark debuted the new Nike Caitlin 1s colorway, inspired by Taylor Swift, during a game against the Connecticut Sun. She hit the court wearing the “Friendship Bracelet” Caitlin 1s, a nod to the Eras tour trend where fans traded personalized friendship bracelets.

The sneakers have a soft pink gradient all over, with a gold Nike swoosh and Clark’s signature logo in cobalt blue on the tongue. The thick, fuzzy laces are decorated with beads and charms: Clark’s spell out “CC” and her jersey number “22.” (That number is also one of Swift’s biggest songs.)

The trend started with the song “You’re On Your Own, Kid” from the 2022 album Midnights, which includes the line: “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it.” Fans began making custom bracelets and swapping them at her concerts. (Even Swift’s now-husband Travis Kelce tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at an Eras tour show in July 2023.)

In a clip shared on the Indiana Fever’s X account, Clark said: “Obviously the friendship bracelet thing has really come back in the last like four years or so, and obviously what Taylor has done has really brought that to life…I think it’s just really cool and really powerful, like, the amount of friendship bracelets that I receive when I’m signing autographs…that’s always what people want to make for me.”

“So, I feel like this is almost something that I can kind of give back to the fans in a way, like you can connect with me,” added Clark.

As for Swift herself? “She likes them,” Clark confirmed.

The basketball star actually teased the collab back in June during a home game against the Toronto Temp, wearing bracelets with charms that read “10.01.26” and “Caitlin 1.”

This is also the second time Clark has made custom Swift-inspired sneakers. In June, she wore the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Eras Tours” in a rainbow colorway, adding more friendship bracelets to her socks. (Sadly, those were a player exclusive.)

“I’ve never had so many people ask me for my shoes like after the game today,” she said after the June game. “Literally every kid was screaming for them and I felt bad. I was like, ‘Honestly no, sorry.’ I gotta keep them!” It looks like all that screaming paid off for fans.

While a very vocal Swiftie, Clark has built a genuine friendship with Swift. The two were seen together watching Kelce play with the Kansas City Chiefs against the Houston Texans in the January 2025 playoffs.

Swifties and sneakerheads are two famously dedicated groups, always determined to get what they want and show it off. Combine that, and expect the Friendship Bracelet Caitlin 1s’ October release to be a fierce competition. Not part of either group? There’s still a fashion moment for everyone in the WNBA tunnel walks and on-court style. Stay tuned.
