It’s only been two years since Bottega Veneta launched its first fragrance collection. Like the brand’s intricate leatherwork, the curved bottles on sculptural marble stands felt like standalone works of art. Fast forward to today, and a lot has changed. Louise Trotter has taken over as the brand’s creative director, and she’s now unveiling the next chapter of its fragrance line. Alta is here! Thanks to Vogue First, Vogue Shopping readers get exclusive access to shop the collection 24 hours before anyone else.

Instead of another Venetian-inspired lineup, Alta stands out in several key ways. For starters, it offers twice as many scent options as the original collection, launching with 10 different fragrances. A nod to the house’s signature woven leather, each scent is built around Bottega Veneta’s “Intrecciato duo” concept: pairing one ingredient from Italy, the brand’s home country, with another from somewhere else in the world. The goal is to “tell a global story, capturing essences from every corner of the earth to create evocative scents that awaken the senses and spark the imagination.”

The first eau de parfums each took a bold approach, leaving a trail of intoxicating notes wherever the wearer went. Now, the new batch of eau de parfums is noticeably lighter. They hug the skin instead of announcing themselves.

Standouts include Balliamo, a soft scent that blends Italian white fig with lingering notes of American cedarwood as it settles. It’s so skin-like and warm that it became a favorite of Vogue’s Kiana Murden. I, on the other hand, lean toward Crepuscolo, which contrasts unrefined salt (called Fior di Sale) with South Asian oud. If you prefer something more herbal, Always Now is an earthy mix of Italian basil accord grounded by Madagascan bourbon essence. Montebello takes a similar approach: it opens with vibrant blood orange and unfolds into North African neroli, a nod to the Maison’s gardens in Veneto. Across all ten scents, Bottega Veneta has mastered the art of opposites, creating fragrances that surprise you—just when you think you’ve figured it out, wait a few minutes and experience a completely new aroma.

Each scent comes in a recycled glass bottle that’s taller and sleeker than the original line. For a uniquely tactile experience, the Intrecciato weave is etched onto the glass surface—an artisanal touch worth displaying. And of course, each bottle is topped with the signature wooden cap and gold ring, a nod to Venetian architecture.

What’s more, the expanded fragrance collection offers the same luxury in a convenient 100 mL size, plus travel sizes for easy reapplication on the go. As a new chapter of beauty at Bottega Veneta unfolds, who knows what’s next?
