How We Created This Guide

We believe in firsthand experiences—that’s what shaped this guide. After all, AI can’t capture the warmth of a massage, the scent of a sauna, or the touch of a tropical breeze. Think of this as the anti-AI spa guide, crafted by our editors with Vogue’s signature perspective—and a dash of humor. Because no spa guide should take itself too seriously.

This year, we’ve honed our focus on destination spas—places truly worth the trip. With travel now centered not just on sights but on how we want to feel, we’ve included some hidden gems. A few beloved city spas have moved to our city-specific lists, making room for more far-flung retreats.

While we’d love to visit all 100 spas annually, we didn’t update every single review this time. About two dozen are brand-new additions, visited in the past year. We also revisited some favorites, either rewriting them entirely or refining the details. Every review has been fact-checked for major updates (but if you spot any discrepancies, let us know!).

Check back next year for the 2026 edition—and until then, happy relaxing.
