It’s that time of year again—spooky season is here, just when you thought this year couldn’t get any scarier. At least the stars are handling it with style, showing off killer looks. From coast to coast, dive into Vogue’s 2025 roundup of celebrity-packed Halloween parties, filled with sights, scares, and wicked costumes.
Bette Midler of “Hocus Pocus” fame started the celebrations with the New York Restoration Project’s annual Hulaween party, themed “New York, New York, a Helluva Town.” The black-flame candle has been lit—if you know, you know—igniting the city’s spirit with a tribute to the Big Apple. Midler was the guest of honor, praised by everyone for her leadership and dedication to NYRP’s mission on the nonprofit’s 30th anniversary. Hosted by Busy Philipps, the event also honored Emmy-winning host and producer Andy Cohen with the Joan Kors Green Champion Award.
Who else is showing up at parties this year? According to Google’s latest search data, KPop Demon Hunters and Labubus are the top picks for 2025’s most anticipated Halloween costumes. And after trending on TikTok, the elusive Louvre robbers might finally make an appearance, inspired by the rumor of a sharply dressed detective investigating the bold $102 million jewel heist in Paris earlier this week. (Turns out he was just a bystander, but a ghoul can dream!) It’s another pop culture moment set to influence this year’s costumes.
If you’re still unsure what to wear, don’t worry. Vogue will keep you updated on the Halloween parties everyone’s eager to attend. Think of this as your personal invitation to all the thrilling moments you won’t want to miss.

Arguably one of the most sought-after (and charitable) Halloween nights is Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project (NYRP) annual Hulaween—a magical event supporting the city’s green spaces.
Last night marked NYRP’s 30th year of keeping New York green. Founded by Midler, the nonprofit works with communities to restore parks, revive gardens, plant trees, and create a more vibrant city for all. The theme perfectly matched the mission: “Hulaween: New York, New York, a Helluva Town!”
As one guest dressed as Eloise remarked, “There is no one definition of New York.” The crowd proved her point—with costumes ranging from subway stops and Chrysler buildings to pizza rats, and one award-winner who captured every New Yorker’s quiet fear: death by falling A/C unit.
Midler embraced her roots, wearing denim overalls and glittering eye makeup to reflect her showbiz glamour and hands-on gardening spirit. Accepting the Catalyst Award, she joked, “I’m no longer a spring chicken, no longer a summer chicken, I’m not even a fall chicken. I’m an endangered chicken at this point!” She reminded the crowd of NYRP’s mission since 1995: “Clean, green, open space is a right, not a privilege.”
Hosted by Busy Philipps, the evening was full of classic New York moments. Guests enjoyed a surprise musical tribute from Billy Crystal and Marc Shaiman, Ben Platt’s performance of “On Broadway,” and Andy Cohen—dressed as Andy Warhol—receiving the Joan Kors Green Champion Award from designer Michael Kors in a taxi driver outfit.
As the party wound down, guests were politely urged to leave or risk being escorted out of Casa Cipriani’s historic halls. The City that Never Sleeps truly lived up to its name.
