Chloe Malle has been appointed Head of Editorial Content for American Vogue, effective immediately. In this new role, Malle—who currently serves as editor of Vogue.com and co-host of the magazine’s weekly fashion and culture podcast, The Run-Through—will oversee the creative and editorial direction of the publication. She will join Vogue’s 10 other global Heads of Editorial Content and report directly to Anna Wintour.

“Fashion and media are changing incredibly fast, and I’m both thrilled and humbled to be part of that evolution,” Malle said. “I also feel very lucky to still have Anna just down the hall as my mentor.”

Wintour shared with the team: “When it came to choosing someone to lead American Vogue—freeing me to focus more on Vogue’s global growth, publications, and events like the Met Gala and Vogue World—I knew I had to make the right choice. At a time of change inside and outside the fashion industry, Vogue must continue to set the standard while also pushing boundaries. Chloe has consistently shown she can balance American Vogue’s rich history with its future as an innovator. I’m excited to keep working with her—as her mentor, and also as her student—as she leads us and our audience into new territory.”

Wintour added: “Chloe has long been one of Vogue’s secret weapons in tracking fashion. But she’s not so immersed in the industry that she loses sight of the bigger picture. Like the best designers, she understands fashion’s role not just on the runway, but in shaping modern culture. Though she’s no stranger to red-carpet glamour, her real strengths are original thinking and hard work.”

Malle began her career at Vogue in 2011 as Social Editor, leading wedding and social coverage while contributing to a wide range of topics including fashion, politics, beauty, and home design. She has also edited several books for Vogue. From 2016 to 2023, she was a Contributing Editor, writing features, overseeing special projects, and working as a sittings editor. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, and WWD, among others.

Since becoming editor of Vogue.com in fall 2023, Malle has doubled the site’s direct traffic and driven double-digit growth across all key metrics—including unique views, time spent, and content output—around major events like the Met Gala and Vogue World. She has played a key role in expanding Vogue’s storytelling through editor-led newsletters and successful annual features like Dogue and the Vogue Vintage Guide. She also revitalized Vogue’s Weddings section, increasing content output by 30% and achieving record engagement.

“I’ve spent my career at Vogue working across every platform—print, digital, audio, video, events, and social media,” said Malle, who lives in Manhattan with her husband, two children, and dog, Lloyd. “I love the brand, the content we create, and the editors who make it happen. Vogue has shaped who I am, and now I’m excited to help shape Vogue.”
