Fingers, neck, wrists… table? If you’re running out of places on your body to show off Jessica McCormack’s sparkling diamond jewelry, maybe it’s time to bring that sparkle into your home. In a new collaboration with luxury home decor brand L’Objet, the jewelry designer—a favorite of Zoë Kravitz, Zendaya, and Margot Robbie—has brought her signature everyday luxury style to tableware. The new line, which launches today, comes after two years of careful planning, drawing, and obsessing over the finer details, during which McCormack and L’Objet founder Elad Yifrach developed a deep mutual admiration for each other’s work. “Jessica gifts L’Objet to her clients—I just wish I could give Jessica McCormack to mine,” laughs Yifrach. McCormack adds: “I take gift-giving very seriously, and L’Objet has been my go-to for years—every piece is like a beautiful little sculpture.”

Inspired by the sea, a subject close to both founders’ hearts, the collection is full of marine references. McCormack, who grew up beside the New Zealand coast, is wearing one of the popular wrapped shell rings from her bestselling 2023 Beaches collection when we speak over Zoom. Across the new pieces, ropes, shells, and spirals appear alongside a twisted cord motif that traces edges and forms handles, while the fluid shapes echo the ebb and flow of the waves.

One of Yifrach’s rules when collaborating is that the result must take L’Objet somewhere it hasn’t been before. This time, that meant cutlery. “It was an obvious next step for us to do cutlery because we kind of own the table, but I’d previously never touched it because I always want to make sure that I bring something that doesn’t exist into the mix,” he explains. “Jessica did a small drawing of a butter knife, and it was so gorgeous that we developed it into a whole line.”
While McCormack admits that creating an entirely new product made things somewhat more difficult, the result feels all the more special for it—and is a true treat to dine with. “When you’re pushing the boundaries, that’s when you get something really special,” she notes.

What sets a L’Objet x Jessica McCormack knife or fork apart from the rest isn’t just that it’s incredibly good-looking, but how good it feels when held—something McCormack understands only too well from her work making precious stones feel effortless and wearable enough for every day. “You don’t think of diamonds as comfy,” she laughs. “Jewelry is hard, but I want it to feel beautiful and soft, like something you actually don’t want to take off. If you don’t like the feel of it, you don’t want to use it. No matter how beautiful it is.”

It’s the same for tableware. Yifrach adds that cutlery isn’t something solely to be tablescaped and admired. It’s there to be used. “You have to interact with it in the most intimate way, just like you do jewelry,” he says. “If it doesn’t feel good when you eat, the whole experience is gone, no matter how delicious the food is.”
The delicate conch shells and twisted rope detailing, married with solid metal, make for a pleasing juxtaposition: pieces that feel weighty and luxurious, but entirely apt for day-to-day use. “They are not just pretty for pretty’s sake,” says McCormack.

Both founders are proud maximalists when it comes to entertaining. McCormack’s favorites include the “Neptune trident salad servers, which are long, beautiful and amazing,” as well as the ice bucket with its wing-shell pincers.
