Like most designers these days, Andrea Lieberman is thinking a lot about tariffs. “Every piece you buy and wear should feel meaningful,” she explained. “Right now, if something’s going in your closet, it needs to be special—but not so unique that you can’t wear it often.”
This balance comes through in A.L.C.’s Resort 2026 collection, which blends timeless staples with holiday-ready statement pieces. While standout items like a sweetheart midi dress trimmed with ostrich feathers and a sleek tuxedo-inspired boiler suit make an impact, the outerwear truly steals the show. A leather bomber jacket with subtly padded, sloping shoulders and a tailored waist avoids the overly dramatic, costumey look. The same mix of masculine and feminine shapes defines her suiting—think structured blazers paired with slim, flared trousers.
Lieberman often draws inspiration from California’s laid-back lifestyle and natural tones. The recent wildfires in Los Angeles deepened her appreciation for her surroundings, influencing this season’s color palette. A soft gray-blue, recurring in suits, dresses, and skirts, mirrors the morning fog over the Pacific. Earthy clay tones and a rich green column dress also reflect Southern California’s landscape.
“I feel such a strong connection to California, especially the areas hit hardest by the fires,” Lieberman says. “Those emotions were with me as we developed the colors. It felt natural to capture the fog drifting in from the water, the deep greens, and the richness of the soil.”
