Coachella kicks off this weekend (and next), which means countless people are frantically Googling Coachella outfit ideas in search of inspiration. And if there’s one thing I love doing here at Addressed, it’s helping shape that inspiration.
But first, a confession: I’ve never really gotten the appeal of dressing up just to stand outside in the blazing sun. My ideal outfit for a hot, all-day outdoor event with questionable bathroom access? A T-shirt, jeans, and shoes that won’t leave me with blisters. That said, I do understand that Coachella dressing is a form of method dressing—and people love method dressing. So, let’s dive in.
Vanessa Hudgens, the undisputed queen of Coachella, has mastered the quintessential festival look. (Though, please, keep your shoes on!)

Another Hudgens win. This 2010s-meets-’90s-does-’70s boho vibe? Approved.

Though Coachella started in 1999, it’s forever tied to the boho style that took over in the late 2000s and 2010s—think flowy layers, low-slung belts, fringe, and gladiator sandals or cowboy boots. While I wouldn’t suggest a full-on throwback, now that boho is back in a big way, it’s easier than ever to give these festival staples a modern twist.
Speaking of boho, Chemena Kamali’s latest Chloé collections are a goldmine. Kamali’s love for romantic blouses is no secret, and they’re the perfect foundation for a festival look. Layer one over a bright bikini top or lace bra, pair it with your favorite denim shorts, and you’ve got a fresh spin on one of Hudgens’ most iconic Coachella outfits. (Pro tip: Vintage ’60s and ’70s blouses are easy to find secondhand, and The RealReal often has affordable vintage Chloé pieces!) A delicate ruffled slip dress also works—but I’d argue layering it over jorts (or bloomers, if you’re feeling bold) keeps it practical for festival chaos.
You could also flip the script: pair a simple tank or tee with statement pants. After Chloé’s Spring 2025 show, I wrote about breezy pantaloons—and now they feel perfect. But I’m also obsessed with another Hudgens classic: floral low-rise pants with a coordinating printed tank. It’s a bolder take on the trend.
For a cooler—dare I say, chic—spin on the basic tee-and-jorts combo, take notes from Zoë Kravitz: a bold-colored tee, fully tucked into great-fitting jorts. So simple! The shorts’ cut is key (those pocket details!), but this polished-yet-casual approach works with anything from micro-shorts to nu-metal Bermuda styles.
Shoes? That’s up to you—just consider how much sand, dust, or mud (or crowd stomping) you’re willing to endure. (Are there even mosh pits at Coachella?) Accessories are where the fun begins: go big with hats, retro sunglasses, a hippie belt over your slip dress, and stacks of jewelry. Honestly, throw on that flower crown—the world’s too grim not to!Sure, here’s a clearer and more natural version of your text:
“It’s hard to say no to a little beauty right now.”
