Major European fashion houses have made traveling resort shows standard practice—now Carolina Herrera’s Wes Gordon is extending the approach to his main-season presentation, bringing his spring 2026 collection to Spain.

“Madrid has always been one of my favorite cities in the world,” Gordon said. “Every time I visit, I leave completely recharged with inspiration.”

This isn’t Gordon’s first time taking Herrera on the road. He showcased his resort 2024 collection in Rio de Janeiro and resort 2025 in Mexico City, where he collaborated with local artisans who infused the collection with traditional crafts—from embroidery to handcrafted ceramics.

Gordon and Carolina Herrera have a strong connection to Madrid. In 2023, the brand sponsored the Maestras (Women Masters) exhibition at the city’s Thyssen Museum, featuring works by artists like Artemisia Gentileschi, Mary Cassatt, and Sonia Delaunay. Gordon has also worked with Vogue España’s Fashion Fund program.

While the brand plans to return to New York’s fashion calendar in 2026, the move comes at a high point for the company—its Good Girl fragrance is now the world’s best-selling women’s scent.

“At Herrera, we always forge our own path. We’re open to exploring new directions,” Carolina Herrera CEO Emilie Rubinfeld said in 2023, just before the brand’s debut resort show in Brazil. “If you do things the same way and never take risks, you know you’re standing still.” The strategy has clearly paid off.

“Madrid is a city shaped by history but never trapped by it—there’s a magic in how the past and present coexist,” Gordon added. “Bringing Carolina Herrera here feels less like a choice and more like continuing a conversation we’ve always been part of.”
