Spring has arrived—and so have several exciting new restaurants in New York City. Wondering which ones deserve a spot on your must-visit list? Here’s Vogue’s guide to the hottest openings.
From a high-end dining spot inside the newly opened Printemps, led by a James Beard Award-winning chef, to an Italian gem in Williamsburg from the team behind the beloved Kellogg’s Diner, these are the places you won’t want to miss.
### JR & Son
The team behind Kellogg’s Diner is bringing Italian flavors to Williamsburg with JR & Son, led by Chef Patricia Vega (formerly of Thai Diner). Expect dishes like chicken parmesan and branzino with brown butter carrot puree and salsa verde.
### Maison Passerelle
Located inside the new Printemps department store, this full-service restaurant is helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef Gregory Gourdet. The menu explores the complex culinary legacy of French colonialism—think cane syrup-glazed duck with pineapple and tamarind jus, or strip steak rubbed in Haitian coffee chili spice. The stunning interior, designed by AD100’s Laura Gonzalez, features a mural by David Roma.
### Bar Bianchi
From the group behind Downtown favorites like The Nines and Le Dive comes Bar Bianchi, a chic Milan-inspired café channeling the vibe of Bar Luce and Bar Basso. The retro-modern space includes a zinc-and-Formica bar, while the menu offers Italian classics like veal Milanese and rigatoni with sausage, peas, and pink sauce.
### Gitano NYC
The Tulum-based restaurant, famous for its Mexican cuisine and jungle-meets-beach aesthetic, has made its NYC pop-up permanent. Their new Pier 17 location in the Seaport offers waterfront views of the Brooklyn skyline, plus a moody interior with chandeliers, lush greenery, and a disco ball.
### Teruko
The Hotel Chelsea is adding another standout to its culinary lineup with Teruko, a Japanese and sushi restaurant. A highlight? The original bar from Tokyo’s historic Orchid Bar at Hotel Okura, recently salvaged and installed here.
These are the spots to watch—and taste—this season.
