President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn today. Standing on the Blue Room balcony with Melania and a giant Easter bunny, Trump told the crowd of families, “We’re bringing religion back to America. We’re bringing a lot of things back, but religion is coming back to America.” He also commented on the passing of Pope Francis, who died earlier today at 88, shortly after meeting with Vice President J.D. Vance. “He was a good man, worked hard, he loved the world,” Trump said about the late Pope.

In previous years during Trump’s presidency, Melania typically wore classic Easter outfits for the event. In 2017, she chose a soft pink Hervé Pierre dress; in 2018, a light blue Burberry cashmere jacket; and in 2019, a blue Michael Kors dress.

This year, she went for a more understated look—an off-white, double-breasted Mackage trench coat with a storm flap. Her shoes matched the neutral tone: gray patent leather Roger Vivier pumps. Other guests stuck to traditional pastels, like Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, Bettina Anderson, in a pale yellow double-breasted coatdress with jeweled buttons, and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a blue Poava lace midi dress. Their outfits contrasted sharply with the President, who kept to his signature bright red MAGA tie.
