Florence Pugh made a striking return to the red carpet after some time away, and true to form, she embraced her signature bold style with a sheer, daring look.
The actor and former Vogue cover star attended the European premiere of Thunderbolts in London on April 22, stepping out in a gothic-inspired Elie Saab couture gown from the fall 2024 collection. The black sheer dress featured intricate floral embroidery that extended down her legs like tights, paired with a flowing black tulle skirt—a perfect match for Pugh’s darkly glamorous aesthetic.
In classic Florence fashion, she went all out with her beauty look: her signature blonde bob was slicked black with flipped-out ends, and she added a bold swipe of neon orange eyeshadow. Her nails, however, kept things understated, following the no-manicure trend favored by stars like Anya Taylor-Joy and Selena Gomez.
Pugh walked the carpet alongside her Thunderbolts co-stars David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Pedro Pascal (who once again wore Conner Ives’ Protect the Dolls T-shirt in support of trans rights). Later, she kept the sheer theme going at an afterparty, wearing a nude tulle trench coat over a matching lingerie-style dress with ballet pumps.
In the film, Pugh reprises her role as Yelena Belova, part of a team of anti-heroes caught in a dangerous mission that forces them to confront their pasts—early reviews have been promising.
Pugh has become a fearless advocate for sheer and lingerie-inspired fashion. At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, she wore a white Stella McCartney minidress with lace panels, and she’s previously stunned in Rodarte’s boudoir-style gowns. She even walked in Harris Reed’s fall 2025 show in a dramatic sheer hooded gown.
Her stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray (who also works with Raffey Cassidy and Simone Ashley), teased more bold looks to come, posting a photo of Pugh in a sleek David Koma blazer dress with oversized sunglasses and pointed boots. If this is any indication, we can expect plenty of lace and daring cutouts throughout her press tour.
