That sound you hear? Wedding bells—and possibly the collective sigh of lesbians everywhere mourning the fact that Kristen Stewart is officially taken. Stewart married her longtime partner, screenwriter Dylan Meyer, at their Los Angeles home on Sunday, April 20, in front of what People described as “an intimate group of loved ones”—including Ashley Benson and her husband, Brandon Davis—after picking up their marriage license at the courthouse. (TMZ broke the news first.) Honestly, if there’s a better way to spend Easter Sunday than at a lesbian wedding, I can’t think of one.
Stewart and Meyer met on the set of American Ultra in 2019 and got engaged in 2021. At the time, Stewart told Howard Stern, “I wanted to be proposed to, so I made it pretty clear what I wanted—and she nailed it. It was really cute. She did great, and… we’re getting married. It’s happening.” Well, now it’s official! As someone who remembers Stewart’s love life being tabloid fuel during the Twilight era, I love that this is one of the few things she’s shared about marrying Meyer.
While I’d kill to know every detail (what did they wear?!), there’s something undeniably chic about a small, home wedding with only the people you truly want there. Big weddings have their perks—fun, festivity, all eyes on you—but Stewart’s always been private. Honestly, we don’t even know much about her and Meyer’s relationship, so why would we expect a play-by-play of their big day? Mazel tov, you two!
