Jonathan Anderson, who left Loewe in March after an 11-year tenure, has been named the new artistic director of Dior menswear. He takes over from Kim Jones, who departed in January.

The announcement came after LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault revealed at the conglomerate’s annual meeting that Anderson would design Dior Men’s next show on June 27.

Anderson became creative director of LVMH-owned Loewe in 2013 at just 29, while also running his own label, JW Anderson, which LVMH partially acquired that same year. During his time at Loewe, he earned acclaim for his innovative shows, smart collaborations, and high-energy campaigns, transforming the brand into one of luxury fashion’s most talked-about names.

His final Loewe show for SS25 drew a standing ovation from industry peers—including Sarah Burton, Pieter Mulier, and Pharrell Williams—as well as Delphine Arnault and other celebrities. Under his leadership, Loewe’s sales skyrocketed from an estimated €230 million in 2014 to between €1.5 and €2 billion in 2024.

Now, the question is whether he can work the same magic at Dior Men. Like many luxury brands, Dior has faced challenges from the market slowdown and global instability. LVMH’s fashion and leather goods division saw a 5% sales drop in Q1, with Dior slightly underperforming the average. Still, it remains a powerhouse, with estimated 2024 sales of €8.7 billion (down from €9.48 billion in 2023).

Known for his sharp, wearable designs and relentless work ethic, Anderson has the vision and skill to align with Dior’s legacy—making his next move one to watch.
