Cecilie and Amalie Moosgaard are the epitome of effortless, uniform dressing. As Scandinavian minimalists and founders of Copenhagen-based Lié Studio, they’ve built a loyal following by staying true to their timeless aesthetic—one that celebrates outfit repeats and relatable style. Their shared vision focuses on creating versatile, impactful accessories designed to last.

Reflecting on their personal styles, which were shaped during their early modeling days, Cecilie tells Vogue, “Amalie is definitely the more daring and confident one.” Her own wardrobe leans toward classic femininity—think pencil skirts, tweed jackets, and capris—while Amalie jokes that Cecilie prefers staying in her comfort zone with blazers, tees, and jeans. Both share a passion for vintage denim, which they collect and repair to keep in regular rotation.

Jewelry is their signature finishing touch. “Even if I’m just walking the dog, I’m wearing my earrings and rings,” Amalie says. Their personal collection now includes five new black onyx pieces, inspired by their grandmother’s vintage clip-ons, launching exclusively on their site and Moda Operandi on April 25. Their designs—from silver cuffs and beaded chokers to leather belts and suede handbags—blend day-to-night versatility with an authentic sense of self, explaining their broad appeal.

Their wardrobes are built around investment pieces that work for any occasion. “You want to wear them on a Monday and a Friday,” Cecilie says. Neither sister is an impulse shopper, though Amalie admits she loves the thrill of discovering small boutiques while traveling. With years of work trips since age 15, their packing strategy is refined—Cecilie feels her best with just a carry-on. “That’s when we bring our favorite pieces,” she notes. And unless they’re working out, you’ll never catch them in sneakers. Kitten heels (preferably Manolo Blahnik) are their go-to, or else ballet flats and flip-flops for off-duty days.

Here, the Moosgaard sisters share their looks for a busy week in Copenhagen—biking in kitten heels, office meetings, and stops at their Vognmagergade 9 flagship—always perfectly balanced between polished and personal.

The Everyday Office Uniform
For a full day at the office, Amalie and Cecilie always opt for jeans. Here, Amalie wears a Skall Studio sweater, white jeans, and her trusty Chanel flats. “White jeans are perfect for spring,” she says, styling them with a silver belt to “break up the outfit,” a silver cuff, and a long necklace from their new Moda collection. While both love mixing gold and silver, Amalie avoids combining metals—sometimes leaving her vintage gold Cartier Tank watch at home to prevent clashes.

Even for board meetings, Cecilie says, “We like showing up in jeans.” She elevates hers with a black blazer, kitten heels, and layered jewelry. Both sisters champion Scandinavian brands and resonate with emerging women-owned labels like Skall Studio, Totême, Birrot, and Home of Hai.

### Day-to-Night Dressing – Monday or Friday
“I spent a year thinking about these capri pants from Birrot,” Amalie says of this look, which she’d wear for a day that transitions into an evening event. (Cecilie joked she’d never wear them.) She first spotted the Birrot capris on someone at Copenhagen Fashion Week last summer and chased them down to find out the designer. “I usually dress for all day,” she explains, adjusting jewelry and accessories to shift from day to night. Here, she pairs the capris with a fitted Róhe blazer and Manolo Blahnik mules. For a weekend version, she’d style them with flip-flops and a T-shirt—never sneakers, which feel too casual. The finishing touch is Lié Studio’s Cleo necklace, a choker with a black onyx pendant inspired by her grandmother’s vintage clip-ons. “It’s a standout piece that looks great with an open neckline.”

Wardrobe essentials shine in this effortlessly polished look, ideal for days when the designers are heading out for client meetings or interviews at their Copenhagen flagship.

“We’ve created wardrobes where getting dressed is simple and everything works together,” Amalie says of her sweater-and-skirt combo. Meanwhile, Cecilie pairs her favorite white jeans with a Totême trench coat, heeled ballet flats, and a black V-neck tee—”we’re always searching for the perfect T-shirt,” she notes. A spacious black bag, big enough to hold “your entire life and more,” is a must for busy days.

“We’re not into logos,” they add, emphasizing their love for well-made, understated pieces with minimal branding—like their go-to Norma tote, which both reach for almost daily.

The All-White Look—Ready for Summer’s Arrival

Cecilie shares that with warmer weather, she’s excited to wear more flowy shirts—a staple in both sisters’ spring and summer wardrobes. Here, she styles a relaxed poplin button-down from Matteau (an Australian brand she swears by) with white jeans and black leather accents for a touch of edge.

This foolproof outfit formula is one she’ll easily recreate, swapping in a blue-and-white striped shirt or medium-wash jeans. A mix of silver jewelry adds the perfect finishing touch.
