William Lundgren and Veronika Kant, the creative minds behind Bite Studios, have recently moved from Gothenburg to Stockholm, shifting their focus from wholesale to building a closer connection with their customers and fostering a sense of community. Their latest collection exudes a quiet confidence, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Lundgren’s northern Swedish roots in Västerbotten. The collection subtly reflects this influence through muted jacquard patterns resembling lichen-covered rocks and an intarsia sweater that captures the region’s essence in an expressionist style. The overall feeling of freedom and space is further emphasized by the minimalist, almost Quaker-like photography in the lookbook, shot in the studio of photographer Erna Klewall, who often collaborates with model Erika Wall.
Bite’s designs are rooted in minimalism but are elevated with unexpected romantic touches, such as lace inserts in satin skirts and pleats that add movement to tailored coats and striped shirts. The collection features sensuous draping created through rectangular pattern-making and scarf tops that bring a soft, flowing quality. While black and gray dominate the color palette, pops of rust and a striking neon red add vibrancy. Notably, the collection is almost entirely made from natural fibers, staying true to Bite’s mission of environmental sustainability. Kant emphasizes that sustainability remains at the core of their work, even if it’s no longer a trending topic. Titled *Landskap* (landscape), this collection not only reflects the beauty of nature but also aims to inspire positive change in the fashion industry. Bite Studios continues to pave the way for a more thoughtful and sustainable future in fashion.
