Ayo Edebiri’s Chihuahua mix, Gromit, sometimes tags along for her work events. The former Dogue cover star recently joined the actress for a stylish summer walk in Los Angeles after one of her appearances.

Edebiri once joked to Vogue about bringing Gromit to The Bear set: “He joined the camera department and even tried to run for treasurer of their Local 600 union. It was terrifying.” She also playfully imagined Gromit’s backstory: “I’m a gay, divorced entertainment lawyer who got turned into a dog by a witchy former client after she caught me skimming money.”

After filming an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Edebiri took Gromit for a walk, dressed in a draped red Proenza Schouler dress, black pumps, and sunglasses, with her signature auburn bob parted down the middle. Gromit, meanwhile, sported a simple black leash.

Red has become Edebiri’s signature color—from her Julia Roberts-inspired auburn hair at the Golden Globes to standout red looks at major events. She’s worn a red Prada dress to the Globes, a red-and-black Bottega gown to the Emmys, and a beaded Ferragamo gown to the Met Gala. For her Kimmel appearance, she stuck with her favorite Proenza Schouler in bold red.

Up next, Edebiri returns for The Bear’s fourth season (premiering June 26) and stars in Luca Guadagnino’s thriller After the Hunt alongside Andrew Garfield, Julia Roberts, and Chloë Sevigny. She’s also set to lead the Apple TV+ rom-com Prodigies with Will Sharpe, playing a former child prodigy in a complicated relationship. Plus, she’s reportedly writing and starring in a Barney movie for Mattel.

With so many projects, Gromit—who’s used to being the only big-personality, almost-human figure in Edebiri’s life—might have some competition.
