Just when you thought we’d settled on the perfect summer nail color, Selena Gomez shows up with her gorgeous mocha pink manicure. It’s sweet without being too sugary, with just the right natural touch.
Pantone has officially named “Mocha Mousse” the color of 2025 (following 2024’s “Peach Fuzz” and 2023’s “Viva Magenta”). This warm, creamy shade evokes chocolate and coffee, tapping into beauty and fashion’s enduring love for brown tones. As the founder of Rare Beauty, Gomez has always embraced classic elegance—and her latest nail color, created with her go-to manicurist Tom Bachik, is no exception.
But why stop at plain mocha? Adding a hint of pink creates a soft, minimalist look that’s effortlessly chic.
Gomez debuted the manicure at a recent L.A. event celebrating her first Rare Beauty fragrance, Rare Eau de Parfum. The scent features notes of caramel, vanilla, and sandalwood—described by Gomez as “warm with just a touch of spice.” She’s been leaning into these cozy, sweet vibes throughout her promo, even hosting a perfume-themed baking class with fiancé Benny Blanco where they made pistachio-caramel tiramisu. A deliciously toned manicure? Classic Selena.
For the event, she paired the nails with a shimmering, nearly bridal halter-neck dress by Cult Gaia, a sleek high ponytail by Renato Campora, and a brown smoky eye with glossy caramel lips by makeup artist Hung Vanngo. Her nails were kept short and rounded—a timeless, elegant shape.
Want to recreate Selena’s mocha pink manicure?
Start with well-prepped nails: file evenly, care for your cuticles, and apply a strengthening base coat. Since the shade can be sheer, you want a clean, fresh base. Then, apply two coats of the pinky-brown polish and finish with a glossy top coat.
Celebrities have been embracing natural nails this season—Anya Taylor-Joy, Renée Zellweger, and Nicola Peltz Beckham have gone polish-free, while Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid opted for nude shades on almond-shaped nails. But Gomez puts her own spin on the trend with this subtle, sophisticated mocha pink. As always, she’s setting the beauty standard.
Is mocha pink your next manicure pick?
