This year, Copenhagen Fashion Week celebrates its 20th anniversary. Over the past two decades, the Danish capital has become known as the unofficial fifth stop on the fashion calendar—often buzzing with just as much action on the streets as on the runways.

To mark the occasion and celebrate the impact Scandinavian style has had around the world, we’ve put together a guide to the region’s most talked-about street style stars, using our growing archive that goes back to 2015. The list is arranged alphabetically and chronologically, which helps us track how these women’s influence has changed over time. Much of this has been captured by our own Acielle Tanbetova, also known as Style Du Monde. When many of these women started out, “content creation” wasn’t a job yet—in fact, some began as bloggers before Instagram existed. And today, not all of them are still active in the scene, but their impact on the industry is clear.

All of them either live in or have lived in Denmark, Norway, or Sweden at some point. While some fit the minimalist stereotype of Northern Europe, others are just as comfortable in bright colors and bold pattern mixes. What they all share is a talent for mixing local and high-end brands with ease—something fashion lovers everywhere can relate to.
